2-and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?"
They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
3-
So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?"
"John's baptism," they replied.
4-Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
5-On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
6-When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
7-There were about twelve men in all.

14-They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15-"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
16-Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,[b] the Son of the living God."

17-Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
18-And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hadeswill not overcome it.
19-I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

43- Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
44- All the believers were together and had everything in common.
45- Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
46- Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47- praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 7:38
He was in the assembly in the desert, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to us.

Romans 8:14 to 17
14- because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

15- For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father.
16- The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
17- Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
1 Corinthians 3:16 and 17
16- Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

17- If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

1 Corinthians 12:12 to 31
12- The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.

13- For we were all baptised by one Spirit into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free— and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
14- Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15- If the foot should say, Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body, it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
16- And if the ear should say, Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body, it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
17- If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18- But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
19- If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20- As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21- The eye cannot say to the hand, I don't need you! And the head cannot say to the feet, I don't need you!
22- On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23- and the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,
24- while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honour to the parts that lacked it,
25- so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
26- If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.
27- Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

The Church continuation...

28-
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.
29- Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30- Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31- But eagerly desire the greater gifts.

2 Corinthians 6:6 to 18
6- in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;

7- in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
8- through glory and dishonour, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
9- known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;
10- sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
11- We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.
12- We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.
13- As a fair exchange— I speak as to my children— open wide your hearts also.
14- Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15- What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16- What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.
17-Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.
18- I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
Ephesians 2:19 to 22
19- Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow-citizens with God's people and members of God's household,

22- And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Ephesians 3:9,21

1 John 1:6,7
6- If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

7-But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Revelation 21:2,9
2- I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
9- One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Gifts of the Holy Ghost

1 Corinthians 12:1
Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.

1 Corinthians 12:28
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues

But eagerly desire the greater gifts.
1 Corinthians 14:1
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

Signs
Following Christian Believers

Mark 16:17 to 20
17-And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18-they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.
19-After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
20-Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ— to the glory and praise of God.

Divine Healing
Provided for All, in the Atonement

Psalm 103:3
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
Isaiah 53:4 to 5
4-Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

5- But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Matthew 8:17
This was to fulfil what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.
James 5:14 to16
14- Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15- And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
16- Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective
1 Peter 2:24
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

The Lord's Supper
Luke 22:17 to 20
17- After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, Take this and divide it among you.

18- For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.
19- And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.
20- In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you
1 Corinthians 11:23 to 26
23- For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
24- and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.
25- In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.
26- For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

Washing the Feet
of the Saints.

John 13:4 to 17
4- so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel round his waist.
5- After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped round him.
6- He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, Lord, are you going to wash my feet?
7- Jesus replied, You do not realise now what I am doing, but later you will understand.
8- No, said Peter, you shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered, Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.
9- Then, Lord, Simon Peter replied, not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!
10- Jesus answered, A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.
11- For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12- When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. Do you understand what I have done for you? he asked them.
13- You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord', and rightly so, for that is what I am.
14- Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet.
15- I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
16- I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17- Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
1 Timothy 5:9 and 10

Tithes and Offerings

18- Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High,
19- and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator [e] of heaven and earth.
20- And blessed beGod Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand."
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
Genesis 28:20 to 22
20- Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear
21- so that I return safely to my father's house, then the LORD will be my God
22- and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
Luke 11:42

On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
2 Corinthians 9:6-9
Sowing Generously
6-Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
7-Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
8-And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
9-As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."

Tithes and Offerings continuation...

Hebrews 7:1-21

Melchizedek the Priest
1-This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,
2-and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace."
3-Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
4-Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder! 5-Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, their brothers—even though their brothers are descended from Abraham.
6-This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7-And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater.

8-In the one case, the tenth is collected by men who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.
9-One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham,
10-because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor.Jesus Like Melchizedek
11-If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come—one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
12-For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.
13-He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.
14-For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.
15-And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,
16-one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.
17-For it is declared:
"You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek."[a]
18-The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless
19-(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

20-And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath, 21but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:
"The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
'You are a priest forever.'

"
Restitution Where Possible
Matthew 3:8
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Luke 19:8 to 9
8-But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

9-Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

Second Coming
of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

First, to resurrect the dead in Christ and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air

1 Thessalonians 4:15 to 17
15-According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16-For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17-After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
2 Thessalonians 2:1
Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers,

Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years

We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him
2 Thessalonians 1:7 to10
7-and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
8-He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9-They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power
10-on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

Revelation 19:11 to 21
The Rider on the White Horse
11-I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
12-His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
13-He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
14-The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15-Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16-On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS

17-And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
18-so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great."
